Lucy Museum of Musicians - Buzzcocks

Qualification to The Lucy Museum of Musicians who deserve entry to Lucy's Museum of Musicians is they must have a minimum of three songs which would make me turn up the radio if they came on

Buzzcocks

Qualifying Songs: Moving Away From The Pulsebeat, Everybody's Happy Nowadays, Ever Fallen in Love

If someone thought in the 70s what we need is a band to make a pile of similar songs with punchy drums, sharp guitars, a thick bass and great riffs then they would have been happy with the Buzzcocks.
Inspired by the Sex Pistols, the Buzzcocks trod that well worn path of if it ain't broke don't fix it and although they never got a song in the UK Top 10, they are part of punk royalty. Like a lot of bands, they hit upon a style and sound early on and kept with it on a succession of the rapid-fire punk songs that would become classics even if they were not quite so appreciated at the time.
'Moving Away From the Pulsebeat' has one of the best drumbeats ever and duelling buzzsaw guitars interrupted by Pete Shelley singing a few lines.
'Everybody's Happy Nowadays' has the same theme with drums and guitars at the forefront and Shelly again turning up at the microphone occasionally to repeat the same few lines over and over.
'Ever Fallen in Love' is a bit more of a pop affair and not a typical punk tune but it still has that Buzzcocks trademark riff and energy running through it.
Certainly one of the top punk bands and probably more appreciated by a wider audience now.
